Basketball and Wrestling have started off with a “bang.” There is a lot going on. Both
the HS Girls and Boys are doing well. This week they beat Seminole in their season
openers and are continuing to progress well. The girl’s team won by 70 points at
Seminole and the boys held off a late Chieftain run to win by a comfortable margin too.
Wrestling is in full swing right now as well and our student athletes are having great
success there. I am impressed by the dedication of our kids and coaches and the
support that they receive from their families and the community at large. That includes
the younger grades and JH athletes too! It has been said that “It takes a village, to raise
a child;” and I agree. That is why I want to applaud the community and encourage you
to keep up the support for all of our athletes, archers, Ag kids, band and color guard,
GT, Quiz Bowl and everyone else, as they move forward through the year representing
our school. Join our “Village.” The Fall and Winter is a busy time and I would like to
invite the community and especially our Senior Citizens to join us in supporting the kids
of your choice. If you have not already gotten your free events pass, please feel free to
come by the Administration Office at 233 South 4th Street in McLoud and pick one up.
Adopt the team of your choice and make supporting them your “thing.” Gather up your
buddies and bring them along. Buy a pop or a popcorn at the concession while you’re
there and make yourself at home. With all our kids have to offer, I’m sure you can find
something that you will enjoy. I appreciate it and the kids and coaches do too! With this
in mind, please see the events below between now and Christmas Break. Make your plans to
attend the events of your choice and help us “spotlight” some of our kids!
