Superintendent Spotlight - 10/20/25

Greetings from McLoud Public Schools,

The first 9 weeks of school have been very busy. Students and educators have been working very hard and their labors are much appreciated.  From my viewpoint, it is a pleasure serving the school and community and I want to thank the Board of Education for their diligence and care in stewarding the school forward during a time of change. Education of students has been my lifelong focus.  I take it seriously and that is a huge part of our mission here.

Our administration, at the district and site levels, is professional and attentive to the needs of our students and community.  Without our students, we have no purpose and providing them with guidance, opportunity, and instruction is and must remain to be “Job #1.”

Since coming on board, I have spent a great deal of time meeting our teachers and other educational staff and I see much to be proud of.  Genuine concern for learning and overall well-being is apparent when they speak of their classes and students.  Our students seem on task and engaged in learning and that is definitely something to build upon and I look forward to helping teachers serve our kids.

We have a dedicated staff of support workers and they do a great job.  We have one of the cleanest schools around and the workers are open and accessible.  Our cafeteria staff serves our students with a smile and an eye toward student well-being. The office staff at the Administrative Office is professional, efficient, and very mindful of the needs of the patrons and employees that they serve.  We are lucky to have them.  The site office staff is very often the “face” of the district that our parents see first and I have been impressed by their willingness to assist and serve our parents, students, and guests on a daily basis.

Projects that enhance the user-friendliness and promote a positive outlook of our school are a high priority to me.  Although I have worked in McLoud Public Schools in the past; needs, and circumstances, in schools change over time and I must keep this in mind. While much is familiar, many things have changed as technology and its use has progressed and what is expected of students changes as well.  One of the ways that I am trying to increase a more user-friendly atmosphere is making sure that our website is easy to use and understand.  The quicker a patron, parent, teacher, or student can access the current information that they need, the more satisfied that they will be in using the website and the more likely they will return.  That is our goal.  I will have weekly “Spotlight” updates to highlight our students, staff, and school moving forward.  I appreciate your continued support of McLoud Public Schools and look forward to our next visit.
