Caruthers picIn a full-circle moment, personally and professionally, Dr. Bill Caruthers has accepted an appointment to serve as the Superintendent of McLoud Public Schools beginning July 1, 2025. It is a return to a place where he and his wife June began their lives together as a couple, marrying here in 1986 and as teachers in McLoud Public Schools for close to 15 years. Caruthers states, “I came to McLoud Public Schools in 1985 as a teacher at the Jr. High. June came to McLoud in 1986, teaching 5th grade at the Intermediate. We are excited to be here again. McLoud truly marks the beginning of our professional careers and really, it is where our adult lives began as well. June and I married here. Our son was born while we were here. We built our first home here and have maintained many relationships and ties to the community over the years. In many ways this feels like coming home and we are excited at the opportunity.” Dr. Caruthers received his Doctorate in Educational Administration and Curriculum Studies/Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in 2009 from OU and has served as a superintendent in Oklahoma districts for nearly 20 years as well as being Director of Educational Leadership at ECU for 10 years, with a few years doing double duty as a superintendent and professor simultaneously.
